The Gathering

Banda holandesa inicialmente de Doom Metal e hoje de Gothic Rock, formada em 1989 pelo vocalista Bart Smiths e o guitarrista René Rutten. A banda teve vários vocalistas, inicialmente homens, até a chegada de Anekke van Giersbergen que foi a vocalista que durou mais tempo na banda, de 1994 até sua saída em 2007 dando espaço para a nova vocalista Silje Wergeland que se juntou a banda em 2009.

Dutch Doom Metal (before) and Gothic Rock (now) band formed in 1989 by singer Bart Smiths and guitarist René Rutten. The band had a lot of singers, men at the beginning, until Anekke van Giersbergen, who was the singer that stayed more time in the band, since 1994 until her output in 2007. Silje Wergeland, new singer of the band, entered in 2009.

Members: Silje Wergeland (vocal), René Rutten (guitar), Marjolien Kooijman (bass), Hans Rutten (drums) e Frank Boieijen (keyboard).
